Mariah Yeater's Ex-Boyfriend Arrested on Drug, Battery Charges

The reportedly "real father" of Mariah Yeater’s baby, who is denouncing her allegations that Justin Bieber fathered her child and wants to take a paternity test to prove it, was arrested last Saturday in San Diego on drug and burglary charges.

According to RadarOnline, 23-year-old Robbie Powell was arrested at 11:41 p.m. and charged with four felonies and one misdemeanor, which include possession of drug paraphernalia, three charges of commercial burglary and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamines).

Powell is currently being held in the San Diego Central Jail with a bail amount of $7,000, though he is not eligible for release. Two court dates have been set for this week.

Yeater made headlines earlier this month when she filed a lawsuit against Bieber asking him to take a paternity test and pay child support, claiming he fathered her 4-month-old child in a brief sexual encounter after his concert back in Oct. 2010. Yeater had a front row seat and claimed a security guard approached her asking if she would like to meet the star, and soon after meeting backstage, Bieber lost his virginity to the then 19-year-old woman in a bathroom tryst.

Bieber has vehemently denied the allegations and took a paternity test last week to clear his name.

Sources close to Powell recently told TMZ.com that he is positive he is the father of Yeater’s baby and wants to take a paternity test because he’s tired of her using her son for media attention. Though Powell was initially implicated as the father in text messages recovered by TMZ, some speculate he is coming forward now because he too is looking to cash in on the scandal.

According to the website, Powell has been approached by several news outlets to sell his story.
