Matt Damon On 'Batman v Superman' And Why You Won't Be Seeing Him In A Superhero Movie
Unlike his best friend and former collaborator, Ben Affleck, who has played the role of Matt Murdock in 2003's "Daredevil" and whose turn as the Dark Knight in "Batman v Superman" is one of the most hotly anticipated comic book films of 2016, Matt Damon has never worn a superhero mask or cape for the movies.
Curiously, though the 45-year-old A-list Hollywood actor has proven his chops in action films such as 2013's "Elysium" and in his "Bourne Identity" franchise, Damon seems uninterested in being cast as a superhero. In a recent interview with Variety, the "The Martian" actor talked about his apparent lack of superheroism and, in contrast, his old friend Affleck's soon-to-be-released "Batman v Superman." He revealed that Affleck has already seen the upcoming film and that he seems to have liked it.
When asked if he was interested in playing a comic book character, he answered, "I hear ["Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice"] is good." Damon added: "I haven't seen it yet but he's seen a rough cut and I think he's very pleased. But no, I don't know that there are any comic book characters left."

The revelation that there is already a finished, though rough, copy of "Dawn of Justice" is good news for DC fans, but Damon's apparent disinterest in playing a comic book superhero may disappoint some of the actor's followers.
But though he told Variety that he doesn't think there are comic book characters left to play, he also revealed to the New York Daily News in September that he and Affleck are big Daredevil fans and that he would do a Daredevil film if it was to be directed by Christopher Nolan.
"If Chris Nolan came up to me and said, 'I want to do Daredevil,' I would be in," he said.
