McDonald's Manager Shot by Customer for Incorrect Order
A McDonald's manager in Canton, Miss., was shot after messing up a customer's fish sandwich order.
Michael Wilks, 36, of Jackson, Miss., allegedly shot manager Maurice Sheppard in the arm on Tuesday, after ordering two Filet-o-Fish sandwiches and discovering that only one was in the bag, according to WAPT.com. Wilks reportedly left the McDonald's location and allegedly returned later with a firearm.
The shooting victim, who has been working for McDonald's for over 20 years, was treated for his wounds at a local hospital. He was able to be released the very next day.

Although police were able to apprehend Wilks while he attempted to escape to his room at the nearby America's Best Value Inn motel, they said he may have been under the influence. Vicki McNeil, Chief of the Canton Police Department, said Wilks seemed to have an unstable state of mind.
"He insinuated his food hadn't been prepared correctly but it seemed from his mind state, at that time, and that nobody could have done anything that would have been satisfying to him," McNeil said in a WLBT report.
Jade Garner, a witness to Wilks' argument with Sheppard, said she was fearful while watching the incident take place from a neighboring Waffle House restaurant.
"(I was) scared, because anything could have happened and it could have come over here," Garner said in a WAPT.com report.
Nick Patel, an America's Best Value Inn employee who was working when Wilks was arrested described the incident.
"He just came down here and after that he went outside, and they caught him outside," Patel told WAPT.com.
For Garner, the situation seems unbelievable.
"Crazy, very crazy," she told WAPT 16 news. "Over a fish sandwich."
After the incident took place, police patrolled the McDonald's restaurant on West Peace Street in Canton where the shooting took place. Wilks was charged with aggravated assault and being held in the custody of authorities with a bond set at $750,000.
