Meagan Good Reveals How God Helped Her Get 'Anchorman 2' Role

Meagan Good, the 31-year-old Christian actress, recently revealed how God had a hand in her obtaining a leading role in the upcoming comedy, "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues."

After doing a chemistry read with lead actor and comedian Will Ferrell for the coveted role, Good spoke about how God helped her land the part.

"Will was very sweet and supportive; I kind of beat him up in the audition, and threw him around the room a little, and he let me," Good told Complex magazine. "About a week later, they called me and say, 'Hey, you got the part!' And I just was blown away, and so appreciative."

The first thing Good did was praise the Lord.

"I started thanking God immediately," Good recalled to Complex. "I know there were a lot of people up for it, and I know it was all God. I just feel like…I was just excited. I was over the moon."

Good, the wife of Hollywood executive and preacher DeVon Franklin spoke about how the grace of God helped her take risks in her audition. The actress threw her shoes against a wall and began to hit Ferrell which worked in her favor.

"It called for it a little bit, but I took it to another level. You can't hold back anything in a situation like that, and I really wanted the role," Good revealed to Complex. "I gave it 110 percent in the audition, and by the grace of God it paid off."

However, the actress has made it clear that it wasn't always easy sticking with her craft.

"I grew up in Canyon Country, Calif. It's kind of small townish, 30 to 40 minutes outside of Hollywood," Good told Camloot.com earlier this year. "And it was like 'oh you're not pretty enough, you're not tall enough, you're not light enough, you're not dark enough, you're not talented enough. All of those things."

Good revealed that a conversation with God helped her stick with acting despite the criticism she received.

"When I got about 19 I had a conversation with God and I was like 'is this what you want me to do,'" Good revealed to Camploot.com. "..Because if this is what you want me to do then I believe I'm going to make it.

At 32, Good has appeared in a number of films and television shows. While she said that imparting her knowledge on young women is important, the actress has continually glorified God when speaking about her success in the industry.

"I try to share a lot of what my personal experience has been…Definitely I've seen the ups and downs and I've been through a lot," Good told Camloot.com. "For me to be able to be where I am now i know it's because of God."
