Melanie Lynskey Divorce: 'Two and a Half Men' Actress Files for Divorce After 5 Years

Melanie Lynskey is to divorce husband Jimmi Simpson after five years of marriage together.

Lynskey and Simpson first met in 2001 when they were introduced on the set of the mini-series "Rose", based on work from horror author Stephen King. They got together and eventually married in Lynskey's native New Zealand in 2007.

However, it now appears as though their marriage is over and a divorce looms, according to new reports.

Lynskey is famous for her role on hit sitcom "Two and a Half Men." Simpson, meanwhile, is also famous for his role in the long-running series "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."

According to reports Lynskey filed documents requesting a divorce on Sept. 25. The grounds cited in the documents were for "irreconcilable differences." The papers were filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Those court papers describe that the couple have actually been separated since April 9, and it appears as though the couple could not resolve their problems since that split.

Lynskey recently appeared in the Sundance film "Hello, I Must Be Going." She sparked controversy in that movie for appearing naked while performing the Canadian national anthem.

The actress has also recently appeared in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" alongside Harry Potter actress Emma Watson.

Lynskey has said regarding the controversy surrounding her performance in "Hello, I Must Be Going: "I'm a character actress, and I'm very grateful for all that I've gotten to do. But this was just something that was so fully realized, a complete journey that this person makes. It felt like such a gift…. It was a really nice feeling," according to The Inquisitr.
