Melissa Kellerman Tackled, Deletes Twitter Account

Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Melissa Kellerman was almost taken off the field during the team's Thanksgiving match against the Miami Dolphins; now sources are speculating that she may have been taken off Twitter.

The brunette was accidentally tackled after stocky Cowboys Tight End Jason Witten lost control ploughing into a petite Kellerman, whilst she was cheering on the sidelines.

Kellerman who was unharmed, giggled before springing back into action and took to Twitter the following day to assure fans she was fine, "Not hurtin' today, like some of y'all thought I would be! Our TE isn't as tough as he looks... That or I'm WAY tougher than I look."

The 22-year-old's Twitter account has since been deleted, and although critics suspected that team officials forced her into hiding, she has assured fans it was her own choice.

Darren Rovell of CNBC tweeted his frustration, "Shame on the Cowboys for pulling cheerleader @MelissaRae off Twitter...Not allowing these girls to capitalize is criminal."

Sources suggest that since the incident Kellerman has gained an overwhelming amount of publicity, particularly her growing number of Twitter followers which is said to be making team officials uncomfortable.

Chris Chase of Yahoo Sports' weighed in writing, "It's alright when the team controls the message but not when a cheerleader begins to get a following and has the stage to herself?...This should have been a win-win for everyone involved."

According to The Hollwood Reporter both Kellerman and Cowboys officials have denied the team forced her to delete her Twitter account, with both confirming it was Kellerman's own personal decision to do so.

In her latest tweet Kellerman wrote, "The Dallas Cowboys might accidentally tackle cheerleaders on the sidelines, but they would never tackle a DCC's twitter account," she wrote. "Cowboys did not 'force' me to deactivate. I chose to spend the Thanksgiving wknd with my family.......& not my twitter account."
