Michael Phelps Sells Condo in Baltimore; Bachelor Pad Had Heated Pool

Swimming icon Michael Phelps has reportedly sold his condo in Baltimore, but at a whopping $400,000 loss.

The Olympic champ who won his 17th gold medal today had bought the home in 2007 for $1.699 million. It was listed in March for $1.42 million. But TMZ is reporting that he actually sold it for only $1.25 million. Phelps' realtor has refused to confirm the sale.

The sleek, modern bachelor pad has 4,000 square feet of living space, 3 bedrooms, 3 full baths and two half-baths, hardwood floors, a rectangular spiral-ish staircase, and floor-to-ceiling windows. Residents of the condo building also have access to a heated indoor pool, a fitness center, and a rooftop lounge that overlooks Baltimore's Inner harbor.

Phelps had bought the pad at the worst possible time, just before the housing market crashed. However, no need to worry about Phelps hurting too much from the financial loss. The officially greatest Olympian of all time, who now has 21 Olympic medals, is rumored to be offered a generous contract from a major TV network to report on swimming competitions around the world leading up to the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
