Michael Schumacher Health Update: F1 Racer's Family Sticks with Decision to Keep His Condition Details Private

Two years had passed since Formula One legend Michael Schumacher got involved in a fatal ski accident, and his family continues to keep his condition private.

Schumacher's manager Sabine Kehm claimed that there is no change in the family's decision regarding the legend's recovery from brain injury.

"We just have to accept that the family wants to continue to protect their privacy," Kehm said. "Of course, Michael will not disappear but at the moment the private situation is so difficult that unfortunately no insight can be given. There must be understanding for this."

While everything remains a secret from Schumacher's family, rumors have spread that his condition is already deteriorating. Some reports also claimed that the German racer doesn't show any improvement even though he is under intense medical care.

The German F1 legend is best remembered for winning successive titles with Ferrari. On Dec. 29, 2013, Schumacher was on a holiday with friends in the French Alps. He was skiing with his 14-year-old son, Mick, on the said place. While crossing an unsecured off-piste, he fell and hit his head on a rock, making him suffer a severe head injury. He was brought to the Grenoble Hospital and underwent two operations for his brain.

He remained in coma after he was admitted to the hospital. In April 2014, his family announced that Schumacher had shown signs of consciousness. On June 16, 2014, his manager confirmed that he is no longer in coma and had already left the hospital. He went home for rehabilitation in September 2014. Updates then became difficult to arrive as his family have decided to keep everything in private.

"Such speculation is irresponsible, because given the seriousness of his injuries, his privacy is very important for Michael. Unfortunately they also give false hopes to many involved people," Kehm once reprimanded a magazine for falsely reporting that Schumacher can already walk.

Until now, there are still not much official updates regarding the racer's condition. Kehm, meanwhile, had previously claimed that medical experts have advised the family that a recovery would be very difficult.

It was, however, reported recently that Schumacher wasn't only dealing with his health but also surviving from his depression as his injuries had made him unable to move.

"Schumi cries," writer Giorgio Terruzi said. "And sometimes mysteriously. He cries when he hears his children, his wife's voice, his dogs. In the silence of that room, a tear runs down his thin face at a known sound. We have a man that we usually consider unbeatable...engaged in a struggle."

Schumacher's friends, family and supporters still continue to keep their hopes up and join racer in his journey towards recovery.
