Michelle Obama Turns 50, Won't Rule Out Botox or Plastic Surgery

First Lady Michelle Obama turns 50 this week and is celebrating with friends in Hawaii. She recently spoke publicly about turning 50, aging, and trying to stay as healthy as possible.

"Women should have the freedom to do whatever they need to do to feel good about themselves," Obama told People magazine when asked about the possibility of plastic surgery or Botox in the future. "Right now, I don't imagine I would go that route, but I've also learned to never say never."

Obama is known for being healthy and trying to get the rest of the nation to follow her example in order to fight obesity and other disease. One of her programs is the "Let's Move" program, which specifically targets youth and encourages them to move more rather than sit around playing video games; she has hosted events at the White House and led a national campaign to get the word out. Now, her latest program concerns drinking more water and less soda or sugary beverages.

"I don't obsess about what I eat, but I do make sure that I'm eating vegetables and fruit," the First Lady said. "And as everyone knows, I do exercise," she joked.

Obama famously started a garden at the White House and most meals served at the residence feature organic vegetables and fruit grown in that garden. One of her goals is to encourage more communities to start their own gardens.

As for life goals, Obama said that becoming First Lady was "pretty high up." But even though she is in a very high position, her life is "ever-evolving" and doesn't want to "just sit on my talents or blessings. I've got to keep figuring out ways to have an impact, whether as a mother or as a professional or as a mentor to other kids."

After spending time in Hawaii, both with and without family, Obama will return to the White House and be toasted at a party on Saturday where guests have been told to be ready to dance.
