Microsoft Announces Xbox One S Bundles Ahead Of Xbox One X Launch

Looking to jump into the console wars? Microsoft is offering four new Xbox One S bundles this fall alongside the release of their latest console, the Xbox One X.

It's almost time for the holidays and Microsoft is offering not one, but four perfect gifts this season. Four bundles featuring their current flagship console will be up for sale this fall namely the Xbox One S "Minecraft" Complete Adventure Bundle, Xbox One S "Rocket League" Blast-Off Bundle, Xbox One S Starter Bundle, and the Xbox One S Ultimate "Halo" Bundle.

All bundles come with Xbox One S with a 500GB hard drive and an Xbox Wireless Controller. Also included are an Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass offers of between 14 days and three months.

The main differences between them are the games offered. For the Minecraft bundle, a full game download code for "Minecraft," the "Minecraft" Explorer's pack, and "Minecraft: Story Mode" Season 1 - The Complete Adventure with episodes 1 to 8. As for the "Rocket League" Blast-Off Bundle, a code for a digital download is included.

The Ultimate "Halo" Bundle is available exclusively at Walmart in the US and includes a copy of "Halo 5: Guardians" and "Halo: The Master Chief Collection." It also includes an Xbox Live Gold access, offering a 14-day pass. This bundle arguably offers the most bang for the buck and is definitely an enticing offer for Halo fans.

Xbox One S Starter Bundle is the most peculiar of the four as it contains free access to Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass to three months each instead of a game. Nevertheless, all bundles are available for $279 with the exception of the Rocket League bundle which appears to be unavailable in the US.

Microsoft is also releasing a separate Xbox One S "Assassin's Creed Origins" bundle on Oct. 27 featuring a 1 TB model and a download copy of Assassin's Creed Origins.
