Microsoft Windows 10 News: Free First-Year Anniversary Update
Microsoft Windows 10 was launched July 29 last year, and there is a fair chance that its Anniversary Update will also fall on the same date this year. Just today, Microsoft announced it would launch its Windows 10 Anniversary Update on its first year anniversary with new features expected, including those which were promised during the first announcement of the system but were not delivered. Insiders will have the advantage of receiving the rollout as early as today. The Anniversary Update comes free to all users of Windows devices as PCs and tablets, including the HoloLens and Xbox One.
The Hello login feature will have improvements as well as pen support and Cortana. For instance, Windows Ink, or pen support, can now be used above the log screen. Intelligent sticky notes have also been added, allowing the user to visit a web page and write a note there which won't disappear even after the user leaves the page.
Those who enjoy doodling or are into artistic pursuits may now use a sketchbook to scribble or sketch on complete with digital rulers and other tools, including a share feature.

The Maps app may also use the pen to trace a route on the map shown, and the app tells the distance. Proofreading of a document will also be possible with the pen in Office, as well as drawing shapes.
Besides these, new features will include a Linux subsystem running on Ubuntu applications. Another one would be the desktop app converter, Project Centennial which will wrap desktop applications for delivey via the Windows Store.
Other updates would be simplified background execution and better analytics for developers also through the Windows Store and Development Center. There is so much more delivered on this update and it will only be a few months more of waiting.
