Miley Cyrus Rejects Naked Prom Date, 'PuHlEaSe'
Miley Cyrus has rejected the prom proposal of a teenager who used a creative video and stood naked on a hilltop. But the pop star seems to have offered a date instead.
"Dear Matt Peterson, I don't think I'll be able to make it to prom BUT why don't you come to my AZ show & hang w me? Don't forget a corsage," the starlet tweeted Saturday, adding a kiss icon. The tweet has found over 15,000 retweets and over 35,000 favorites.
Peterson, the teenage fan, responded with vigor. "I need a tounge tuxedo made by the 27th. THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE!!!" he tweeted, including the hashtag #mileyprom. His tweet received less attention, rounding up 544 retweets and 1,216 favorites. Cyrus' response was brief – "PuHlEaSe." Peterson joined over 1500 others in retweeting her response.

Peterson's video, published on the last day of January, chronicles his two previous meetings with Miley Cyrus, and ends in an unconventional proposal. Peterson included footage of meeting the pop star, in order to help Cyrus remember him. In both cases, the fan cried after meeting his idol.
"Uh, those tears were super manly, right?" the fan asked, jokingly. "As you can see, we've had some great memories together, but I'm ready to make some more."
Then he starts his question "Miley, will you…" but immediately, he cuts himself off, saying "you know, this doesn't feel right." Snapping his fingers, Peterson jogs the camera to another scene, with him standing on a hilltop holding a single red rose. He tries again, but then concludes, "This still just doesn't feel right."
With a final snap, Peterson stands naked on the hilltop, holding a dozen roses in his left hand and a foam finger in his right, cleverly hiding his private parts. "Miley Cyrus, will you go to prom with me?" he asks. "I promise you it will be the best night of your life, and if you're not the slow-dancing type, no worries."
"I go to public school, and grinding is allowed," Peterson joked. The video has found over 700,000 hits on YouTube, and finally found a response last week.
The proposal has gone viral in the media. Peterson's video and Cyrus's response have received a great deal of media coverage, mostly from pop star and entertainment news outlets. E! News and Billboard both shared the story, and Peterson seems satisfied with his publicized relationship – he has retweeted many media mentions on his twitter profile.
Peterson tweeted at Billboard, explaining why he has hopes despite Cyrus' rejection. "She said no to prom.. BUT she invited me to hang with her the 27th! [between you, me, & all of twitter, Im more excited for that]" he wrote.
