Missing Baby Lisa Irwin Police Team Dismantled as Hopes Fade
A command post where a number of investigators worked on the missing baby Lisa Irwin case that gripped the nation was dismantled, with police admitting they need to allocate their resources elsewhere.
Although the Kansas City Police Department has not given up on the search for the missing baby, hopes are beginning to fade as leads dry up and no new information has been unearthed for some time. The case is still making headline news and people everywhere want answers, but there are other crimes that need solving, according to The Kansas City Star.
“The people who are working this are not going to let this go. But we have other cases and other victims,” said Capt. Steve Young explained.

The investigators that worked on the Irwin case will return to their departments and focus their attention on other cases, but if there are new developments on baby Lisa, they will get together and use their experience and all the information they have gathered.
The latest rumors surrounding the case regard the parents, Deborah Bradley and Jeremy Irwin, who are treated as suspects, because no other credible information has been found on other people that might be involved. A previous person of interest was a local man, John Tanko, known as “Jersey the Handyman,” but police have cleared him.
One other mystery that remains to be solved involves the cellphones that were taken on the night of baby Lisa’s disappearance, one of which made a phone call to Jersey’s ex-girlfriend, Megan Wright. The Federal Bureau of Investigation has since confiscated the cellphone that received the call, but they have not revealed what-if anything-was discovered.
Investigators hoped that speaking to baby Lisa’s two older brothers for the second time would have led them to some possible answers, but as far as it is known they were unable to extract anything concrete.
