Motorola Droid Razr vs. Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket Review

The two top Android smartphones that gave the iPhone a run for its money in 2011 are the Motorola Droid Razr and AT&T’s Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket.

Not only was the Droid Razr rated as CNet’s top smartphone of the year, beating out the iPhone 4S, but it also reinvented one of the most popular cellphones of all time, the Razr.

The first AT&T version of the Samsung Galaxy S2 sported some impressive specifications and capabilities, but with the Skyrocket, the new device, it is able to reach new heights, including connecting with 4G LTE networks.

For processors, the Motorola Droid Razr includes a dual-core 1.2GHz processor while the Skyrocket slightly trumps it with a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor.

However, both devices move at incredible speeds.

Both of them have Super AMOLED displays; with the Razr including a 4.3-inch screen and the Skyrocket sporting a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED plus display.

The original AT&T Galaxy S2’s screen is the same size as the Razr’s, but the Skyrocket makes gaming and movie watching even more effective with a larger screen.

The Skyrocket’s form is thin and light compared to other handsets, such as the iPhone, but the Razr sports the thinnest frame in the world at 7.1-mm thickness.

Both smartphones include an 8-megapixel camera capable of filming in 1080p video and taking quality shots.

The Droid Razr originally had an advantage over the first Galaxy S2, because it was able to connect to 4G LTE networks, but AT&T created the new Skyrocket version specifically for 4G LTE speeds.

These devices seem to be close competitors, and ideal alternatives for customers looking for a premium Android experience.
