Motorola X Phone Confirmed, New Specs Leaked

Motorola's CEO Dennis Woodside finally confirmed the existence of the Android powered X Phone at the recent AllThingsD conference.

The device will be manufactured in Texas and will be coming to all major U.S. carriers sometime in October.

Evleaks also reported a new list of leaked specifications for the device. The Motorola X Phone could feature a 1.7GHz dual-core MSM8960 Pro processor, 720p display, 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory, 10-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front shooter, and Android 4.2.2, JellyBean. The processor is the same Snapdragon S4 Pro that showed up in the LG Optimus G last year.

The only specification in that list that seems unlikely is Android 4.2.2, as the handset will most likely run a newer build of the software such as Android 4.3 or Android 5.0.

A device that could be the Motorola X Phone was recently spotted at the FCC, confirming some of the recent rumors regarding the handset.

This device featured the model number XT1056, suggesting that this could be another version of the Google-powered X Phone that has been rumored to be in development for quite some time, according to Android Authority.

The site also reported that it came across an XT1060 device that was previously mentioned in a leaked Motorola file. The device is said to be Verizon's version of the X Phone.

The other device could be part of the same line of smartphones, and the documentation points to it belonging to Sprint.

Another smartphone with the codename XT1055 was also spotted in a benchmark recently. This device could also belong to the X Phone family.

Not many details were revealed in the FCC filing of the XT1056, but the drawing found in the documentation was not similar to the one Android Authority discovered for the XT1058.
