Neve Campbell Amish Drama to Hit Lifetime

Neve Campbell is set to make her return to TV, starring in a new movie produced by Lifetime.

The movie “Sworn to Silence” is based on the book series with the same title by author Linda Castillo. The title character, “Kate Buckholder” must deal with her past as a survivor of a serial killer that terrorized the Amish community. Though “Kate” survived, she is suddenly forced to examine her past in order to ensure her future.

Lifetime, with its motto “Television for Women,” is developing the movie. President Nancy Dubuc issued a statement saying, “I’ve always admired Neve’s work. She is a proven talent who will bring a high level of intensity and presence to this role and ‘Sworn to Silence’.”

Campbell starred in “Party of Five,” a family drama, from 1994 to 2000. She played “Julia Salinger,” one of five siblings forced to live on their own after the death of their parents. The series won several awards, including a Golden Globe.

During that time Campbell also portrayed “Sidney Prescott” in the “Scream” franchise. The horror series began in 1996; its latest installment “Scream IV” premiered earlier this year.

She began her film career in “The Craft,” which focused on four teenage girls who use witchcraft. “Scream” soon followed, with Campbell playing the lead character, “Sidney.” The movie gained a following, leading to the production of three additional movies.

Since then, she has appeared in “Wild Things,” “Three to Tango” and had several TV guest roles, including providing the voice for a character on “The Simpsons.”

Campbell has been married twice. Her marriage to Jeff Colt ended in divorce in 1998, after three years. She then married John Light in 2007; they are currently in the process of divorcing. Campbell has no children.
