NFL 2015 News and Rumors: Tom Brady Supports Peyton Manning Amid PEDs Allegations

Tom Brady and Peyton Manning may be fierce rivals in football, but the two individuals share an unlikely friendship outside of it.

When an Al Jazeera documentary surfaced, accusing Manning and other players of different sporting disciplines of using and receiving human growth hormones, the entire industry was stunned. However, Brady is standing by his "friend" Manning, saying that he supports him no matter what. "I fully support Peyton. My friendship with him over the years, he's a guy that I can always count on, and has been someone that's always been so supportive of me," he said.

The report/documentary particularly mentioned that Manning received HGH in his wife's name when he was in the process of recovering from a serious neck injury four years back, but Manning was quick to deny it in a rather angry and fuming way. The quarterback is even contemplating on filing libel charges against Al Jazeera and the people who put his name in the highly disputed documentary.

But Brady himself tried not to talk a lot about the accusations; instead, he focuses on describing his friendship with Manning. "I have a lot of personal thoughts that really are personal to me. I would consider him a good friend. You have to see your good friends go through anything like that," the Patriots star said.

Brady himself is no stranger to controversy. He had to go through a particularly rough patch this year when he was accused of another kind of cheating, which the media fondly referred to as the "deflategate" scandal involving footballs deflated for an unfair advantage in the field.

At the very same time when the news about the scandal involving Brady surfaced, Manning was there to support him, pretty much similar to what Brady's doing right now for his good friend. He said that Brady will always be his friend and that he didn't have sufficient information to comment on the scandal.

As for Brady and the new HGH scandal, he believes that Manning has played in the NFL long enough to be able to carry and handle these kinds of issues with finesse. "He's a very mentally tough guy," he added.
