Nicki Minaj Reveals Prayer For Motherhood

Nicki Minaj, the 30-year-old rapper, recently revealed that she wants to be a mother and revealed a prayer that she says for her future child.

Minaj may be a rap mogul who has toured the world and served as a judge on "American Idol," but she is also a female who looks forward to embarking on the journey of motherhood. The rapper recently revealed that she had an epiphany when embarking on a world tour.

"I was on a world tour, a big feat for a female rapper," Minaj told Elle magazine recently. "For the first time, I allowed myself to feel proud of where music had gotten me, and I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude. You feel the need to pay it forward, which starts with analyzing yourself with a true desire to grow."

The rapper revealed her prayer while on tour to the publication.

"I was praying every day, 'You know what, Lord? I want to be a mom one day, and I want to start becoming the woman who I want to parent my child,'" Minaj told Elle. "I wanted all of the feelings of entitlement to leave me, because some people have this life for a year or five or 10 – and a lot of them lose it. I didn't want to become a person who wasn't enjoying the moment."
Minaj has been vocal about her prayer life and even spoke about praying for her purpose on her sophomore album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.

In a segment on her album titled "Press Conference" Minaj spoke about her bigger purpose in life.

"I have to pray on that. I think that my purpose will eventually be related to some sort of movement for my younger fans really," she said. "I really am interested in learning how to build the education system to a point where we have more of a success rate in terms of black children that go from high school to college. I feel like college was not something that was engraved in my brain."
