Nintendo has announced that a new 2DS XL system designed to look like a Poké Ball will be released later this year. The console will be available in North America on Nov. 3.

Additionally, the orange and white 2DS XL system will also be heading to North America earlier than the Poké Ball console. The orange and white version was previously only available in Japan, but Nintendo has revealed that the portable handheld will be arriving on Oct. 6.

However, fans who reside in Japan will have another special version of the Nintendo 2DS XL system available. They will also get a Pikachu version of the console. This makes sense because Pikachu is perhaps the most well-known Pokémon in the whole roster.

With the Poké Ball-themed 2DS XL system, fans will surely feel more like they are trainers catching and guiding Pokémon. The new console will arrive before "Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon," which means players have enough time to purchase the system before the game drops. "Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon" will be hitting stores shelves on Nov. 17.

The standard version of the Nintendo 2DS XL system was initially released in North America on July 28. Nintendo of America president and chief operating officer Reggie Fils-Aime previously described the portable console and why the company decided to make it.

"This new addition to Nintendo's portable hardware line demonstrates our commitment to the hand-held market," Fils-Aime said (via IGN). "New Nintendo 2DS XL sports a beautiful clamshell design and offers a great balance between price and performance."

Pokémon fans can also look forward to "Pokémon Gold" and "Pokémon Silver" being released for the Nintendo 3DS' virtual console later this month. The classic Game Boy games will be available on Sept. 22.
