Nintendo NX Release Date and News: Console Gets Warning for 2016 Launch

While fans are rooting for Nintendo to release the NX soon, an expert doesn't think a 2016 release will be the best time for the much-awaited console.

According to Express, Analyst DFC said 2016 isn't the most reasonable year to release the platform, especially with many other virtual reality devices set to hit the market this year. "DFC believes that Nintendo launching a new system in 2016 would be a mistake and under any scenario the Nintendo NX will not have an impact on the market until late 2017," the analyst said.

Earlier rumors suggest that the NX will feature "Final Fantasy VX" on the first day of its release and fans have been eager to hear an official confirmation from Nintendo. This could be one reason why rumors about the 2016 release of the console have been flying online for the past few weeks.

However, DFC believes that virtual reality will be Nintendo's biggest rival in case it will launch the NX this year. As fans already know, the PlayStation VR is already a tough device to beat, and with the promise of additional devices featuring VR, the NX may not be appealing to fans in 2016.

On the other hand, the analyst also thinks that the NX will definitely swing a hard blow at the Xbox One and the Wii U. Since the new console promises a lot of support from third parties, plus new titles that fans are already clamoring to get their hands on, the company might see huge sales figures in the long run.

Nintendo has not given a lot of details about the upcoming console, but it is expected that big news will come to fans in June. It is also speculated that the NX will be out during the holidays. The rumors don't stop there as recent reports suggest that fans of "Zelda" may see the title on the NX, resonating the preparations for the title's release for the Wii U.
