Oakland Raiders vs Kansas City Chiefs live stream, preview: Chiefs Look to Set Longest Win Streak Record
The Kansas City Chiefs are a marvel this season, putting up a good fight against the rest of the NFL after an awful 1-5 start. They are now 10-5 and are looking to surpass the longest winning streak for the franchise, which currently sits at nine straight victories.
When asked about his team having to climb up after several weeks being down at the bottom, head coach Andy Reid couldn't help but appreciate what the players have done. "They're a pretty straight forward group… they've been that way though camp. I think they trusted each other and that was probably the biggest thing going there," he said.
Oakland for its part is a well-experienced team who lost to the Chiefs the last time they met. But that's history now, especially when one considers that the team's two wins in three games are a testament of how good they can be. The team is handled by rookie coach Jack Del Rio, but there' nothing rookie about this guy. "We're looking at it as an opportunity to play a division rival at their place," he said.
While the Chiefs are well on their way to the postseason, the Raiders will be vacationing early than expected. But it does not mean they're not going to play for a win tomorrow. It's an opportunity for us to go after them (Chiefs) and find a way to get a win… we'd really like to give them a memory to take with them into the playoffs," Del Rio added.
But Oakland's regular season finale won't be a walk in the park, no thanks to the uncertainty of cornerbacks Neiko Thorpe and D.J. Hayden, both of which are questionable heading into the game.
For the Chiefs, embracing the right offensive system came at the most significant time for them. They currently own one of the most balanced offenses in the league and a defensive system that is more than capable of locking down opponents.
There is a bit of certainty that Kansas City will win this one and set a new team record, but extending their winning streak to 10 games isn't that easy especially against a team like Oakland that is hoping to make a last stand in their season.
