'Once Upon a Time' Gets 'Frozen' in Season Finale

Fans were left excited for the upcoming season of "Once Upon a Time" after last night's season finale, where two surprise characters made an appearance and a wedding took place. Now there's no doubt about where the show may be headed for season 4, though it will be interesting to see what the producers have in store for the new characters.

After a traumatic fall back in time thanks to Zelena's portal, Hook and Emma were forced to get Snow White and Prince Charming back together so that history could continue in the way it is supposed to. Thankfully, with help from Rumplestilskin, they were able to do so, and Emma came to realize that Storybrooke was her home and that she actually truly loved her parents.

Once Emma had that realization, she gained her magic back and was able to create a new portal to return to Storybrooke. This time, though, she and Hook brought back a woman who was supposed to be killed by the Evil Queen. And without knowing it, they also brought back an urn that contained the contents of a very unexpected character.

Emma and Hook returned to Storybrooke to learn that her new little brother will be known as Prince Neal, in honor of the hero who saved them all. And for the first time, Emma called her parents "mom" and "dad," bringing a tearful reunion together. Emma also realized that she cared for Hook and the two began passionately kissing, as did Regina and Robin Hood. Rumple and Belle exchanged vows in the forest, and everyone appeared to finally have a happy ending.

But, in traditional "Once" fashion, that was not the end. As it turned out, the woman that Emma rescued and brought to Storybrooke was none other than Maid Marian, Robin Hood's true love. The revelation devastated Regina, who warned that Emma was "just like" her mother and had better hope that she did not bring anyone else back with her.

The scene then shifted to where the portal had been, and the urn was revealed. Its magic spilled out and a new human took shape. She was dressed in blue and wore gloves that, once removed, allowed her to freeze things. Yes, it was Elsa from "Frozen." No one knows she is in Storybrooke yet, and it remains to be seen how she will fit into the town.

There had been rumors of "Frozen" characters joining the cast in the future, but no one expected it to happen this soon. Now fans are left waiting for quite some time to see what Elsa has in store for Storybrooke.
