'Once Upon a Time' Season 3 Spoilers: Hook's History Revealed, Ariel Returns (VIDEO)

This week's "Once Upon a Time" will allow viewers to see a different side of Captain Hook as he battles the infamous pirate Blackbeard and comes to terms with his past with Emma. It's sure to be an interesting episode, given that viewers do not know that much about Hook's past history.

Reports state that the pirate Blackbeard will make an appearance and battle Hook for control of the Jolly Roger, which comes to be Hook's ship. Incidentally, it's also the name of this week's episode. Last week, Hook showed a softer side when he took Henry, Emma's son, aboard the Jolly Roger to keep him safe from the Wicked Witch of the West Zelena and also to keep him occupied while Emma and the rest of the town battled her.

Hook told Henry about his late father, whom he knew as a boy, which fascinated Henry. At the end of the episode, Hook told Emma that she really needed to tell Henry the truth because there was a great deal of his father in him. Hook and Emma have seemingly had a close relationship at times, and this week, viewers will get to see more of their history.

Hook made the journey to New York City to get Emma and Henry; in addition, he gave her the very last of the memory juice so that she could remember who she was and help her family.

"My name's Ariel, and you're going to pay for what you've done," the mermaid says in the promo. Yes, that's right fans, Ariel is back and has her voice. Yet one wonders what Hook may have done to her.

"We can't just pretend that this didn't happen," Hook tells Emma.
