'One Piece: Burning Blood' Update: Blackbeard Added As Playable Character, Story Trailer Released
Bandai Namco has revealed another playable character in their upcoming fighting video game "One Piece: Burning Blood." According to a report by Game Ranx, the latest to be added in the character roster is Blackbeard, whose real name in the "One Piece" world is Marshall D. Teach.
Blackbeard is the 39th playable character in the game. As detailed in Wikia, Blackbeard is the admiral of the Blackbeard Pirates. He is also one of the four most notorious pirate captains (Yonko) who rule over the second half of the Grand Line, the New World. Moreover, Blackbeard was previously a member of the Whitebeard Pirates' second division.
Aside from the reveal of a new playable character, Bandai Namco and developer Spike Chunsoft released a story trailer for the video game. According to Crunchyroll, the teaser mainly shows the Marineford Arc story mode and some of the climax battles of the characters that are part of the game. It also features some key moments of the arc as well as Blackbeard in action wherein he is seen fighting against Whitebeard. It's also apparent in the teaser that Blackbeard will not be an easy foe to battle with.

At the end of the teaser trailer, Shanks, the captain of the Red Hair Pirates, is shown and is said to be coming to put an end to the war.
The trailer revealed a lot of explosions, wild techniques and even death. Those who are new to the comic series will be surprised but those who have followed "One Piece" since the beginning are already expecting it.
"One Piece: Burning Blood" is a one-on-one fighting game that also features 3v3 melee style fights where each player picks a team of three characters. It will be made available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PS Vita. It will be released on May 31 for North America while the Europe release schedule is set for June 3. The Bit Bag also reported that Bandai Namco has already confirmed that a PC version will be available by June.
