'One-Punch Man' season 2 release date delayed

The eagerly awaited "One-Punch Man" anime series has been widely speculated to be back by the end of this year. Despite the fact of having no official announcement as to when "One-Punch Man" season 2 will be released, fans are now excited due to a tweet made by the user @_OnePunchMan saying, "One Punch Man no doubt will come to Toonami. Probably by the end of the year."

Nevertheless, it is still not confirmed if it is the new season of "One-Punch Man" that will be aired by the end of this year because reports have also gone around that season two of the series may be delayed. Some say that "OPM's" first season, which is now in English, has a greater possibility of being aired on Cartoon Network's Toonami and that the second season will most likely let loose by early 2017.

The delay in the release of a second season is said to be due to the lack of content from its manga counterpart. But manga artist, Yusuke Murata, has assured fans that an update of the manga series is in the works and that new chapters are being prepared, which makes the early 2017 premiere more of a reality.

The storyline may have a civil war theme where Saitama and Genos will be psyching up for a battle between their groups, Heroes Association versus Hero's Hunter. The civil war is said to have been triggered by the suspicion that the Heroes Association is corrupted. An S-ranked hero, Blast, is said to be responsible for the recruitment of new members in order to form the new organization called Hero's Hunter.

A rift between the two will arise when Genos, who is Saitama's closest ally and truest friend, is convinced to join in with the new movement, Hero's Hunter, while Saitama prefers to stay put with Heroes Association. Despite an initial conflict, the two will later reunite once motives are uncovered.

Also rumored is the possibility of Saitama's origin story to be included in the upcoming season two in order for fans to understand the origin of his power punch.
