Also starring "Lord of the Rings" actor Sean Astin and "Courageous" star Alex Kendrick, the comedy reveals the ups and downs as well as everything in between the rollercoaster ride that can be parenting.

Drew, who has also starred on the television series "Mad Men," portrays Allyson, a young mom struggling to balance life with small children.

At the suggestion of her husband, portrayed by Astin, Allyson leaves behind the kids in order to go out with friends when the night takes an unexpected turn.

The Christian Post was able to visit the set of "Mom's Night Out" and even viewed scenes from the upcoming film in Birmingham, Ala. where the filming took place.

"Mom's Night Out" and "Everybody Loves Raymond" star Patricia Heaton, who portrays a pastor's wife in the comedy, admitted to CP that she was "picky" about the film.

"I'm really excited, I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to do the project but I knew how wonderful Sarah (Drew) was and told [the director] to meet her," Heaton revealed during the film visit.

"Sarah is great, and every woman in America is gonna wish she was married to Sean Astin, just warning you guys," the actress joked of the actor's role in "MNO."

"It's just great to see the transition with great actors and it's an exciting experience," she continued, before crediting the movie with providing a positive message about marriage.

"Those younger years, with small children, put a strain on the marriage. I don't think people are prepared going into it, and this film really shows those years," said Heaton. "Just because you're having a tough time doesn't mean the marriage isn't working. It would be a shame for your marriage to break up over something temporary."

Parents and kids alike will appreciate the true-to-life humor found in "Mom's Night Out," reminiscent of the appeal of the television series "Modern Family" as well as Heaton's "Everybody Loves Raymond."

Meanwhile, as filming recently wrapped in late June, audiences can look forward to seeing "Moms' Night Out" in theaters this spring 2014.
