'Persona 5' Release Date May Arrive in Summer

Since last year, fans have been waiting for any updates on the release of "Persona 5," and luckily enough, new reports suggest that the game will finally be out for fans to experience this summer.

The news first came from Japanese video game retailer Animate. In a photo on the retailer's official Twitter account, it says "SUMMER 2016" for "Persona 5," meaning fans can finally get a hold of the much-awaited game that has been delayed since last year.

One of the reasons that Atlus gave last year as to why the game has to be delayed is the discovery of some technical issues that need to be fixed. At that time, the developer said it is working on ensuring that it will deliver a title that won't disappoint millions of fans around the world.

Meanwhile, another hot topic is the coming of other titles alongside "Persona 5" this year. According to Gematsu, the latest issue of the Dengeki PlayStation features an interview with Atlus CEO Naoto Hiraoka wherein he said 2016 will be a big year for the company.

"In 2016, starting with Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir, we plan to release a large number of titles. In the summer, we'll launch the long-awaited Persona 5," Hiraoka said. While the chief already declared the game's release at that time, some people doubted if Atlus will remain true to its word.

Another issue that made fans doubt the developer is the lack of communication ever since it was announced that "P5" will be delayed. Atlus has become very tight-lipped since then, giving fans no information about the title's development. Hiraoka's recent interview was the only official and launch-related one since last year.

However, with a poster out and confirming the game, fans are starting to get hopeful once more. The excitement is getting higher each day as summer comes closer.

Along with "Persona 5," Atlus will also release "Etrian Odyssey V" sometime this year.
