Phoenix Suns Trade Rumors: Tyson Chandler Makes It Clear He Doesn't Want to be Part of Rebuilding
Tyson Chandler's marriage with the Phoenix Suns is starting to unravel with the team still trying to recover from one of the worst and most tumultuous seasons in franchise history. After the team signed him to a four-year deal, it looks like the relationship is never going to last that long.
In a recent interview with the Arizona Republic, the veteran center, who by the way is still in his first season of the $52 million deal, seemed to have provided a clue as to his future plans. "For me, especially where I am in my career, I want to win," he said. "I want to win now. I'm not in any kind of rebuilding stage," he added.
The comments he made reportedly are directed to the franchise that is heading into a rebuilding mode right now. They fired head coach Jeff Hornacek, got rid of unhappy forward Markieff Morris, and are planning to stick with the young group of players headed by 19-year old phenom Devin Booker. And Chandler wants no part of it. The 33-year old veteran has seen himself in many playoff battles before, but the defensive-minded big man does not want to keep playing for a team for three more years with an objective of developing its young core instead of winning games.

Though he hasn't made it official, it is likely that he's going to request for a trade so that he can join a contender. He no longer is the young and athletic shot-blocking center he once was, so the remaining years of his NBA career is more fitted to be spent with a contender – a team that will use him.
This season, the Suns are one of the worst teams in the league. But with a favorable cap space heading into next season, it should make a lot of sense if they trade Chandler and continue their rebuilding efforts.
