'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' Rumors: Story to Pick Up 'At World's End' Plot?

The Flying Dutchman's Will Turner is finally setting foot on the ground once again to reunite with his long lost friend, Captain Jack Sparrow, but probably, for other reasons aside from reliving the old times.

The fifth installment in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise is still years away, but fans are already clamoring for more details on the plot, especially after news surfaced that the movie will pick up on the events that took place in the third movie, "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End."

In the third installment, Orlando Bloom's Turner was last seen as he descended to the ocean as the new captain of The Flying Dutchman, after he and Johnny Depp's Sparrow, along with the crew of the Black Pearl, took down Billy Nighy's Davy Jones.

While it has been confirmed earlier that Keira Knightley won't be reprising her role as Elizabeth Swann in the movie, production was able to come up with a solution to somehow replace her story line. The upcoming movie will be featuring Brenton Thwaites as Henry, who turns out to be Swann and Turner's son. Rumors suggest that he will be embarking on a journey to find his father.

Also, since "Dead Men Tell No Tales" will pick up from where the third movie left off, fans should expect the appearance of Geoffrey Rush's Captain Hector Barbossa, who is Sparrow's longtime frenemy.

Other rumors suggest that Turner will be a whole new different person in the upcoming film as he will resemble the original Davy Jones, with sea creatures sticking out of his face and body. If this turns out to be true, it is possible that Sparrow and his friend might be pitted against each other, with Henry in the middle, undecided as to which side he will choose.

Another new face to grace the jolly sailor boat crew is Kaya Scodelario, who will be playing the role of Carina Smyth, and possibly Henry's love interest.

"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" is slated for release on July 7, 2017.
