'We will fight': Planned Parenthood protests as pro-life groups celebrate Supreme Court overturning 49 years of Roe

America’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, said it would not back down in light of the decision and will continue to push for laws and policies that provide an even stronger right to abortion access.

In a video posted on Twitter, Planned Parenthood Federation of America President Alexis McGill Johnson claims the ruling sends the message that "we are not free."

"However, the justify it, this is about power and control. Power and control that was once ours will now belong to state politicians," she said. "Look, abortion is still legal in many states and Planned Parenthood will do whatever we can to get you the care we need. We will not stop fighting. Our movement will fight for rights stronger than Roe to secure abortion access for all."

In an additional tweet on Friday, Planned Parenthood Action Fund said the Supreme Court's decision was "opening the floodgates for states across the country to ban abortion," "The court has failed us all — but this is far from over."

"We know what politicians want because it's already happening: to ban abortion state by state — & eventually a national ban. But, like generations before us, we'll fight for each other."

The advocacy group then included information for a hotline that helps women locate abortions.

According to the Guttmacher Institute, more than 20 states have "trigger laws" on the books which would go into effect and ban abortion in the absence of Roe.
