Presidential candidates react to Supreme Court’s Harvard, UNC affirmative action ruling

Joe Biden, who recently announced that he was running for reelection in 2024, took to Twitter to express his displeasure with the Supreme Court's decision.

“For decades, the Supreme Court recognized a college’s freedom to decide how to build a diverse student body and provide opportunity,” tweeted Biden. “Today, the Court walked away from precedent, effectively ending affirmative action in higher education. I strongly disagree with this decision.”

Biden also tweeted that he believes the Supreme Court ruling is “not the last word” when it comes to the issue, adding that colleges and universities “are stronger when they are racially diverse.”
