The unforgettable tragedy and loss is still being mourned today. On the 15th anniversary of her death, Diana's fans left signs and flowers at the Paris tunnel where she was killed, as well as in London outside of Kensington Palace where she lived for many years.

Diana's fans have adopted a replica of the flame of the statue of liberty at the mouth of the Paris tunnel where the British royal was killed. As an informal memorial, fans have taped notes on the base of the local monument on Friday, according to The Associated Press.

There is no doubt that Princess Diana's legacy lives on today. Just recently, the royal's brother Earl Spencer and his wife paid homage to Diana after the birth of their daughter in August. The couple named the child Lady Charlotte Spencer after their beloved Princess Diana.

Moreover, an upcoming film, "Caught In Flight," will follow the life of Princess Diana. The film stars Naomi Watts as the royal icon and explores the last two years of Diana's life, including her humanitarian work in central Europe and her reported affair with heart surgeon Dr. Hasnat Khan.

"Caught In Flight" is expected to hit theaters next year.

Diana, who wed Queen Elizabeth II's son the Prince of Wales in 1981, is survived by her two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.

Prince William,30, recently opened up about missing her mother, divulging that he felt the loss of Princess Diana most poignantly on his wedding day to Kate Middleton.

"I sort of prepared myself beforehand so that I was sort of mentally prepared. I didn't want any wobbly lips or anything going on," the prince told ABC's Katie Couric previously.

"I think she would have loved the day and I think, hopefully, she'd be very proud of us both for the day. I'm just very sad that she's never going to get a chance to meet Kate," he added of his wife.
