Pro Football Hall of Fame Rumors: Brett Favre Leads 2016 Class

No one will dare question Brett Favre's inclusion in the 2016 class of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. As one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game, he officially became the 14th first-ballot Hall of Fame QB on Saturday night, along with seven other members for this year's list.

Favre is joined by football owner Eddie DeBartolo Jr., coach Tony Dungy, wide receiver Marvin Harrison, DE/linebacker Kevin Greene, QB Ken Stabler, tackle Orlando Pace, and guard Dick Stanfel. But of all those names, Favre's storied career will always be the highlight, and having made it in just his first year of eligibility makes his inclusion in the Hall of Fame more remarkable.

For the 46-year-old all-time leader in career pass completions, the honor of being part of the Hall of Fame is beyond everything else. "It's an incredible feeling, it really is," he said. "I'm well aware of my career and what I've done and I've accepted it for what it is, but Roger Staubach comes on stage and I get goosebumps," he added.

Favre epitomized humility by saying that although he's extremely thankful for being part of the group, he feels like he's not part of it. However, those guys with him will actually feel the opposite, recognizing that Favre is someone who will always have the most accomplishments in his career than anyone else.

The former Green Bay Packer's 20-year career is full of highlights, awards, accolades, and tons of success. He became the first player in the history of the NFL to throw 500 TD passes. He also became the first to win three league MVPs in consecutive years, back in 1995 to 1997.

This year's eight-member class was chosen by the Hall of Fame Board of Selectors during a Saturday meeting. Each member became an HOF finalist after obtaining 80 percent of the votes by the board.
