PS4 New Feature: Download Games to Console Via Smartphone

Sony revealed a cool new feature for the Playstation 4 earlier today that will that will link the console with the users smartphone in order to download games while not home.

Shuhei Yoshida, Sony President of Worldwide Studios, made the announcement via Twitter today.

"When you buy a PS4 game on smartphone, it will wake your PS4 up to start downloading the game. PS4 goes back to sleep after that," he Tweeted.

At the time it is unclear whether the Xbox One will have the same feature.

Playstation 4 was just named the winner of Gamescom 2013 for Best Hardware of the show.

PS4 announced they will launch the PS4 Nov. 15 in North America and on Nov. 29 in Europe, according to an announcement made by Sony at yesterday's Gamescom.

Sony will launch the system in 32 countries worldwide and it will be $399 U.S. and £349 in the U.K. In addition, the console's predecessor, the PS3, will have its priced lowered to $199.

"We have always been committed to making next generation products but now we're increasingly focused on making those products for next-generation gamers," Jim Ryan, President and CEO of SCEE, told The Telegraph.

Games available for download only are: Basement Crawl, Blacklight, Contrast, Counterspy, DC Universe, Doki-Doki Universe, Flower, Hohokum, Minecraft, N++, Pinball Arcade, Planetside 2, Pool Nation Extreme, ResoGun, Super Motherland, Tiny Brains, War Thunder, Warframe.

The day one games include: Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Crimson Dragon, Dead Rising 3, FIFA 14, Fighter Within, Forza Motorsport 5, Just Dance 2014, Killer Instinct, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, Lococycle, Madden NFL 25, NBA 2K14, NBA LIVE 14, Need for Speed: Rivals, Peggle 2, Powerstar Golf, Ryse: Son of Rome, Skylanders: Swap Force, Watch Dogs, Zoo Tycoon, and Zumba Fitness: World Party.
