PS4 Release Date: Sony Already Working on Game Concepts

Sony is already working on game concepts for the upcoming PlayStation 4 console, according to news outlet Develop.

“A trusted source connected to the matter has told Develop that various game projects are at the very early stages, though didn’t reveal which of Sony’s sixteen first-party studios had been delegated the work,” wrote Develop.

Some of those titles could possibly include a new Gran Turismo, Grand Theft Auto, Killzone 4, NBA 2K, and Uncharted 4.

Naughty Dog, the creator of the widely popular "Uncharted" series was quoted recently stating that it would continue to make "Uncharted" games as long as there is a demand for them.

“There are a ton of Drake adventures out there and we haven’t told all of them yet, and as long as fans want the games and as long as we find something that’s interesting and will push the medium forward, we'll continue to make them," said the game director for "Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception," Justin Richmond to PSM UK.

Other experts in the gaming industry are making predictions on the future release of the new Sony console.

In an interview with IndustryGamers, gaming analyst Colin Sebastian said, "I doubt they will be ready for launch in 2013. Between Sony and Microsoft, we expect Sony to be first to market perhaps as early as 2013, but more likely in 2014. There is still a lot of investment for both companies to recoup in the current generation."

Sony has not made any official announcements to the public regarding the creation or release of its next generation console.

Microsoft is expected to be releasing its next generation system with the Xbox 720 and Nintendo will get a head start on the both of them by launching the Wii U console sometime next year.
