PS4 vs. Xbox One: Xbox One Expected to Sell More in England, Retailer Says

The Xbox One is expected to sell more than the PlayStation 4 in certain European chains in England, retailers are anticipating.

"We are expecting more interest in the Xbox One," Jonathan Marsh, head technology buyer for John Lewis, told TrustedReviews. "We are stocking both the PS4 and the Xbox One, but if we were to back one, we are thinking that Xbox One will appeal a bit more to our customers in terms of the experience it creates."

"If we had to edge one I would favor the Xbox One," he ultimately said.

Marsh believes the Xbox One's launch lineup and online platform are more impressive that the PS4's.

The Xbox One will outsell PS4 by a 3:1 ratio, according to Gamespot analyst Colin Sebastian of Robert W. Baird.

Over in the U.S. polls and pre-order sales will indicate otherwise, with Sony's console on pass to clobber the competition.

According to a Reuters conducted poll of 1,297 people run from Sept. 23-27, 26 percent said they would purchase a PS4 once available, with only 15 percent choosing Xbox One.

For people aged 40 and below, the difference was larger, with PS4 beating out the Xbox One 41 percent to 27 percent.

As far as gamers' current habits, only three percent said they play the Wii U. 20 percent play the Xbox 360, 20 percent use the computer, and 18 percent play games on the PlayStation 3.

64 percent said they would not be purchasing a new console this season.

The Xbox retails at $499, while the PS4 is $100 cheaper, and so are all of its accessories, bundles, and controllers.

PS4 launches on Nov. 15 while the Xbox One comes on Nov. 22.
