Q in James Bond Movie Set to Change to Ben Whishaw

The man playing the tech. wizard in the James Bond movies, known fondly as “Q,” is set to change.

Q is best known for inventing and providing James Bond, 007, with state of the art gadgets and weapons with which he can save the world with.

The character of Q is most famously associated with Desmond Llewelyn.

Llewelyn has played Q in 17 Bond movies till now and is probably one of the most consistent things about the Bond films, which are famous for changing the Bond actor numerous times throughout the decades.

Llewelyn first fulfilled the role of Q in “From Russia With Love” in 1963, with his final role as Q coming in “The World Is Not Enough.”

Llewelyn died in a fatal car collision in 1999 aged 85.

John Cleese, famous for heralded movie “A Fish Called Wanda,” took over briefly, but Q has not been part of any of the recent films starring Daniel Craig as the secret agent.

It has now been announced that Ben Whishaw, 31, a star of the television miniseries “The Hour” and the film adaptation of “The Tempest,” will play Q in the upcoming James Bond movies.
