'Ray Donovan' Season 4 News, Spoilers: Showrunner David Hollander Clarifies Katie Holmes' Casting Rumors

"Ray Donovan" is probably one of the most notable shows from Showtime. Having received generally positive reviews, it shouldn't come as a surprise that the premium cabler will renew it for another season.

As of publication date, it is presumed that the fourth season of the crime drama TV series is currently under development and that fans might be getting some updates on what's coming for the new season anytime soon. For the meantime, followers of the series have been speculating as to who might possibly return in Season 4 and their hopes include Katie Holmes' character, Paige Finney.

However, in his most recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner David Hollander suggested that it is largely dependent on what the storyline for the new season will be.

"I'm never finished with anybody. But her family certainly is not going to be a centerpiece as a plot initially. If something about it becomes relevant to the story and can be additive and bring up more places to explore, sure," he told THR while adding that he did love to see the actors and their respective characters once again.

But while the casting of the "Batman Begins" star has yet to be confirmed, Hollander, this time in an interview with TVLine, spoke about the apparent return of Ray Donovan's (Liev Schreiber) father, Mickey, and its actor, Jon Voight.

Fans may remember the dire situation that Mickey was found in at the end of Season 3. Many have feared that the character could not make it to the new season since he was seen leaving for Las Vegas. Hollander, on the other hand, seems pretty sure that he's coming back and that he will still play a major role in the new story.

"Mickey always wakes up in a new place, and that place feels permanent until it's not. Boston. Mexico. North Hollywood. And somehow, some way, whatever he is doing, it's going to drag him right back into the heart of Donovan land," he told TVLine.

The release date for "Ray Donovan" Season 4 has yet to be announced.
