'RHOA' Kenya Moore Accused of Failing to Donate Charity Proceeds; Was NeNe Leakes Right?

"Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kenya Moore has been accused of failing to donate proceeds she raised at a charity event to the Saving Our Daughters organization, but the reality TV star claims the allegations are false.

On Tuesday SOD, a nonprofit organization designed to empower young women, released a statement relating to a recent "Housewives" episode in which viewers saw Moore, 43, boast about raising "thousands of dollars" for the charity.

The former Miss USA hosted a grand masquerade charity ball in honor of SOD last year, but the organization maintains that it "did not receive any of the proceeds raised."

"On February 16, 2014, Saving Our Daughters was mentioned on the episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta as being honored with a fundraiser on its behalf," Curtis Benjamin, Founder and CEO of SOD, wrote in a statement.

"Ms. Kenya Moore stated that thousands of dollars were raised at this event. To protect the integrity of Saving Our Daughters, our records show that we did not receive any of the proceeds raised from Ms. Moore's masquerade ball," the statement concluded.

Benjamin also favorably addressed NeNe Leakes, Moore's co-star and former friend in the statement, describing the Bravo TV star as one of "our largest financial contributors."

During episode 15 Moore and Leakes, who was a "guest of honor" at the ball, found themselves at the center of drama at the charity event due to issues stemming from an unresolved feud.

The former beauty queen openly criticized Leakes' "pathetic" behavior and failure to put aside her grievances in the name of charity, so it is no wonder that the "Glee" star wasted no time in gloating after Benjamin's explosive allegations.

"You can never WIN when you play dirty because the truth ALWAYS prevails #crackedface?," Leakes tweeted Tuesday to her one million Twitter followers.

Moore, who has been accused of lying by other co-stars in the past, released alleged photocopies of some of the checks she claims to have sent to SOD in addition to text messages from Benjamin. She also took to Twitter to refute his allegations.

"I have video proof more check copies and a contract too so pls do not come for me unless I send for you. #dropsmicrophone #grabsbible2pray4u," Moore tweeted to her 239,000 Twitter followers.

The reality star also released a statement regarding the matter and insisted that she did in fact donate the proceeds raised.

"It's unfortunate Mr. Curtis Benjamin was not aware of the effort I put into trying to make the event a success for Saving Our Daughters or overlooked the texts regarding the intended honoree," Moore told lovebscott.com.

"I spent over $10,000 dollars to make the charity event successful, in addition to making a personal donation from the event as well as forwarding any and all donations collected," she continued. "I hope the focus can shift to the young girls and I wish the organization nothing but the best in the future."
