Rick Perry Vows to End 'Obama's War On Religion'
Following in Randal Terry’s footsteps, Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry has launched an ad pitting religious voters against the president.
In the 30-second ad, which will air Wednesday in Iowa, Perry says, "I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a Christian, but you don't need to be in the pew every Sunday to know there's something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military, but our kids can't openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school."
The governor of Texas adds, "As President, I'll end Obama's war on religion. And I'll fight against liberal attacks on our religious heritage. Faith made America strong. It can make her strong again."

In an email release advertising the new commercial, the Perry campaign lists headlines from various conservative and religious news sites to support the claim that the Obama Administration has waged a war on religion.
The email cites Obama’s omission of God from his Thanksgiving speech and for standing against the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act.
The Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) has two sections. One section to define marriage by federal law and the other to assert federalism principles under the authority granted by Article IV, Section 1 of the Constitution - the Full Faith and Credit Clause.
The first section states that for purposes of federal law, marriage means a legal union between a man and a woman. The second section reaffirms the power of individual states to make their own laws regarding marriage equality. DOMA was signed by President Clinton. It is sure to be a primary issue for social conservatives.
Similarly, Randal Terry released a political ad to Iowa voters this week saying that Obama “is guilty of the slaughter of unborn babies, defying the commandments of God,” he continues by asking, “Who will stop this mad man?”
