"It's different now. We don't have those types of arguments any more," the pop star explained. "We talk about [stuff]. We value each other."

She went on to describe some of his good qualities, saying that he is an overall good individual.

"He's not the monster everyone thinks. He's a good person. He has a fantastic heart," Rihanna said in The Sun report. "He's giving and loving. And he's fun to be around. That's what I love about him- he always makes me laugh."

Monica Braithwaite, Rihanna's mother, said she trusts her daughter's decision to reconcile with Chris Brown and recently opened up about her reasons for doing so in Rolling Stone magazine.

"I know her. I'm very proud of her," Braithwaite told Rolling Stone. "She has her head on straight. I have to let her make her decisions, and I can only sit back and hope and pray for the best."

Rihanna says that she is not afraid if her decision to reconcile with Brown turns out to be a mistake.

"Even if it's a mistake, it's my mistake," Rihanna told Rolling Stone recently. "After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I'd rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it."
