Rihanna's Mother 'Praying' for Singer Amid Chris Brown Reconciliation
Rihanna's mother, Monica Braithwaite, is trusting her daughter's decision to reconcile with Chris Brown and recently opened up about her reasons for doing so.
Despite the fact that singer Brown physically assaulted the Barbadian pop star in 2009, Braithwaite recently told Rolling Stone magazine that she is proud of her daughter, who seems to be reconciling with her former love interest.
"I know her. I'm very proud of her," Braithwaite told Rolling Stone. "She has her head on straight. I have to let her make her decisions, and I can only sit back and hope and pray for the best."

The singer's father, Ronald Fenty, has been vocal about his approval for a reconciliation between his daughter and Brown well before their most recent public appearances.
In an interview with Britain's Grazia magazine last July, Fenty said his daughter and Brown make a "perfect couple."
"Chris has matured a lot," Fenty told the publication. "I think everybody has to put the past behind them. And they seem to have done that. Being a couple is all up to her."
Rihanna, 24, covers the February issue of Rolling Stone and opened up about why she decided to give things another try with 23-year-old Brown.
"I wanted him to know what it felt like to lose me. To feel the consequences of that. But I got real with myself, and I just couldn't bury the way I felt," Rihanna told the publication. "I decided it was more important for me to be happy, and I wasn't going to let anybody's opinion get in the way of that."
Still, the singer says that she is not afraid if her decision to reconcile with Brown turns out to be a mistake.
"Even if it's a mistake, it's my mistake," Rihanna told the publication. "After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I'd rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it."
