Rob Ford Smokes Crack: Toronto Mayor Admits to Smoking Crack in 'Drunken Stupor'

Embattled Toronto Mayor publicly admitted to smoking crack cocaine in the past during what the mayor called a "drunken stupor."

"Yes, I have smoked crack cocaine," Ford told reporters outside his office on Tuesday. "There have been times when I've been in a drunken stupor. That's why I want to see the tape. I want everyone in the city to see this tape. I don't even recall there being a tape or video. I want to see the state that I was in."

Ford had maintained his innocence since the question was first raised on May, but conceded to the long-standing accusations when he asked reporters to repeat their question.

In acknowledging that he smoked crack cocaine, Ford insisted he is not an addict.

"Am I an addict? No. Have I tried it, probably in one of my drunken stupors a year ago.," he responded.

Ford had previously apologized for excessive drinking and other mistakes during his tenure but has refused calls for his resignation.

Ford's brother is also a public official and has called for the resignation of Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair for what he perceived as the politicization of the entire incident.

"We have the most political police chief we have ever seen," Doug Ford, a Toronto City Councilor, told CBN. "The police chief believes he's the judge, the jury and the executioner."

Blair had previously stated said the video was recovered after being deleted from a computer hard drive, but insisted the video was not indisputable and therefore could not lead to charges being filed.

Ford had repeatedly stated he never has smoked crack cocaine and has vowed not to resign while also exclaiming that he is planning on running for re-election.

"I do not use crack cocaine, nor am I an addict of crack cocaine," Ford said during a previous news conference at city hall.
