Robin Roberts Recuperating After Surgery: 'Doing Fantastic,' Says Doctor
Robin Roberts is recuperating in the hospital after her surgery for myelodysplastic syndrome, and the host of "Good Morning America" recorded a video message for her fans. Many had reached out to the television personality, and she reached out in turn to let them know she "[feels] the love."
"This journey is as much about the mind as it is the body," she said in the video message while sitting up in the hospital bed. "Thoughts are so powerful. You've got to change the way you think in order to change the way you feel."
Though Roberts' representative told Entertainment Tonight that "it will be quite a while before she regains her strength," whatever she's doing seems to be working. Her physician said that the host's body handled the surgery- a bone marrow transplant- quite well.

"Medically speaking, she is doing fantastic," Dr. Gail Roboz said on "GMA."
Various celebrities, co-workers, friends, and fans reached out to the much-loved television personality before, during, and after her trying procedure. With her sister, Sally Ann Roberts, at her side, Roberts has a lot of supporters.
"Get well soon so we can sip wine out of teacups again," Lady Gaga tweeted to Roberts. "Your timing's perfect, in final chemo now. Thinking of sipping wine w/you."
"She is in remarkable spirits," longtime weather anchor Sam Champion said on "GMA." "Now, as expected, it is going to be a long waiting game, but we know Robin is going to beat this."
Roberts is, if anything, a survivor. She braved breast cancer, and still manages to stay positive after eight days of chemotherapy.
While Roberts is on indefinite leave for recovery, "GMA" will be hosted by Stephen Colbert and the cast of "Modern Family." Other rotating hosts include various celebrities, like Oprah Winfrey, Barbara Walters, Katie Couric, Diane Sawyer, and others.
