Ronda Rousey News 2015: UFC Star Endorses Bernie Sanders
Step aside Donald Trump; Ronda Rousey apparently does not like you to become president.
The UFC's undisputed women's bantamweight champion revealed in a recent interview that she is endorsing not Trump, but democratic hopeful Bernie Sanders as the next president of the United States. This is quite in contrast to what Trump himself talked about last summer, wherein he specifically mentioned that Rousey "liked" him as candidate for president.
The most dominant female fighter in mixed martial arts talked to Maxim about her political views, particularly on why she'd go for Sanders. "I'm voting for Bernie Sanders because he doesn't take any corporate money. I don't think politicians should be allowed to take money for their campaigns from outside interests," she said.
Not cool with Hillary
Asked what she'd do in case Sanders fails to win the primary, she instantly replied, "If he doesn't win against Hillary then I'll probably vote for a third party again." Rousey was referring to her 2012 decision to vote for a third party since both candidates were individuals she was "against."
What's wrong with Trump?
But what could drive someone like Rousey not to vote a Donald Trump? After all, the billionaire is overly confident when he told CNN that the UFC star is likely voting for him.
Bad news for the real estate developer and presidential candidate, "Rowdy" isn't buying it. "I mean, I wouldn't vote for him. I just really wouldn't trust the guy with running my country, that's all."
Ouch.
Anyway, Rousey does not have to worry about all those political issues as of the moment because she's facing perhaps the most worthy opponent in her career so far in the person of former boxing champ Holly Holm. The fight at UFC 193 will be held in Melbourne, Australia and for Rousey's bantamweight title.
