Ronda Rousey News: Former Champ Keeping Off the Media and Holly Holm Understands

Following her painful loss to Holly Holm, Ronda Rousey is obviously keeping herself away from the eyes of the media and the new champion says she totally understands why.

In the past weeks, Holm has acquired a solid fanbase, not to mention how she knocked Rousey out with a high kick during UFC 193. Some of Holm's new followers commented that they are surprised Rousey isn't saying anything at all about Holm, or giving her a thumbs up for being the first person to defeat her winning streak.

However, Holm is obviously not one to dwell on the past. She told FOX Sports (via News.AU), "It's really nothing on me. I don't want to lose any sleep over it, lose any energy on it." For the most part, Holm totally knows how Rousey feels, being one who has been defeated and tasted the bitterness of losing something you worked hard for.

On the other hand, it is also clear that Holm deserved her win as she also worked hard to make sure she will deliver a fight that the people will love. Still, she feels for the former champ. "When the fight is over and the decision is done, there's always this bit of compassion because when you're a fighter you know what it's like to lose," she explained.

At the moment, it seems that Rousey isn't ready to give Holm the pat on the back that she deserves, most likely because the former women's champ is known to have a very strong personality and wouldn't just give in.

While it is unclear if a rematch is being put up for the two, Rousey is busy recuperating and getting back to where she once was. She has also signed up for two movies before getting in the octagon with Holm so a rematch in the next couple of months is likely impossible.

Earlier reports said that the former champ mentioned retirement in case she loses to Holm for the second time around.
