'Rookie Blue' Season 5 Spoilers: Will Andy Choose Nick or Sam?
"Rookie Blue" wrapped its fourth season with a cliff-hanger, and fans are eager to know more about what may happen with their favorite characters. Will Andy choose to be in a new relationship with Nick or stay with ex-boyfriend Sam?
"Andy was speaking from her heart [in the ambulance], and she was thinking of it as a choice at that moment," executive producer Tassie Cameron told TVLine. "She's always been a very intuitive character, and she's acting on her intuition. It's really clear to us and to Nick, even if it's not clear to her yet, that there's a lot of unfinished business with that relationship [with Sam]."
Cameron added that it was hard to decide who Andy should be with but in the end it came down to asking the question, "Can you have loved somebody like Sam and then fall in love with a different kind of person?"

New photos released from the season five premiere show a pensive Andy sitting in the hospital waiting room, possibly waiting on word from doctors or just after having "the talk" with Nick. The two are later seen in the hallway. It will be interesting to see what decision Andy makes, given the life-or-death situation with Sam and her feelings for Nick.
Another storyline that will be explored further in the upcoming season concerns Gail's coming out to her colleagues and brother. In the finale, she introduced her partner, Holly, to them, but Cameron said that there was much more to discuss and see from Gail and Holly… as well as the reactions of her family and friends.
"I don't think just introducing somebody is enough. There's probably a lot more challenges ahead of her on that. But yes, we were trying to explore the idea, in this episode, that in times of great chaos and stress, the truth is sometimes revealed to people about themselves or about their relationships, about their heart and souls," Cameron said.
"Rookie Blue" returns on June 19 on ABC.
