Russian Oil Tycoon Allegedly Dished $1 Billion for His Son's Wedding

For Russian oil tycoon Mikhail Gutseriev, there is nothing more honorable than seeing his son walk his bride down in the aisle in what could be the most lavish wedding of the year.

Multiple outlets report that the businessman spent about $1 billion for the lavish wedding that included an Ellie Saab dress, a huge cake, and wedding tokens that speak of the heir's massive and luxurious lineage.

Gutseriev's son, 28-year-old Said, married Khadija Uzhakhovs, a 20-year-old student of dentistry in Moscow. Little is known about the bride as The Daily Mail reports that she had been chosen over a long list of ladies who vied for the billionaire son's heart.

Khadija donned a heavily embellished Ellie Saab dress that came with a matching bag. Her make-up was done by Irina Mitroshkina while her hair, perfected by a diamond-studded tiara, was fixed by stylist Anna Timofeyeva.

The luxurious wedding gown was reportedly transported from Paris and weighed 25 pounds due to the embellishments. True enough, guests helped the bride walk through the ceremony as the gown seemed to be too heavy for her to handle on her own.

As for the venue, social media photos reveal that the location was decorated with fresh flowers from the ceiling down to the floor. There's also the nine-tier cake that never failed to amaze social media users as it was decorated with pink and white icing flowers all around.

600 guests who attended the Ingushetia ceremonies received a sparkly gold box that was embedded with the names of both the bride and groom, plus the wedding date. Placed in an equally lavish bag, Mikhail gained some criticism for deciding to splurge on his son's big day in a region that reeked of poverty.

Some critics suggested that the billionaires should have chosen to donate some of the cash they used to charity or to the local government. On the other hand, some others praised the beauty of the event.

Sting, Jennifer Lopez, and Enrique Iglesias performed for the newly weds and guests that included the president of Ingushetia. It is rumored that Elton John and Beyoncé will be performing next for the billion-dollar heir for the second part of the celebrations which is set to be held in London.
