Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime vs. LG G3: Specs, Prices and Features Comparison

Samsung and LG have unveiled their phones, the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime and the LG G3, and comparisons will definitely be made as users figure out which of the two units are the best for them.

Specs for both phones have appeared on websites such as Phone Arena, GSM Arena and NDTV Gadgets, and here is the lowdown for each phone:

For the design display, the Galaxy Grand Prime is a smaller fit at 5 inches and outfitted with a 540 x 960 (220ppi) pixel screen. On the other hand, the G3 is longer with its 5.5-inch size and has a better resolution with 1440 x 2560 (538ppi) pixel screen. Both phones have light and proximity sensors but the G3 edged its competition a little with an olephobic coating.

For the camera, the Galaxy Grand Prime is falling a bit behind with an 5mp front camera, 8mp rear camera and LED flash, while the G3 has a 2.1mp front camera, 13mp rear camera and dual LED.

The Galaxy Grand Prime also has autofocus, face detection and geo tagging, which G3 also has but with an added optical image stabilization, burst mode, panorama shot, voice activation and more gives the G3 a bit more edge.

Going into what's inside the phones, the Galaxy Grand Prime operates on a quadcore Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, comes with a 1024MB RAM and an internal storage of 8GB that can be expanded to 64GB. As for the G3, it comes with a quadcore Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, 3072MB RAM and an internal storage of 32GB that can be expanded to 128GB.

For the battery, the Galaxy Grand Prime has a battery capacity of 2600 mAh and lasts up to around 17 hours, compared to the G3 with a battery capacity of 3000 mAh and can last the user up to 21 hours.

Lastly, the info that sometimes clinches the deal for consumers is the price. The Galaxy Grand Prime is being sold at $240 to $250 on Amazon, while the G3 is being sold at $619.
