Samsung Galaxy S2 Ice Cream Sandwich Update Now Available for Unbranded Models
The Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade is now available for unbranded models of the Samsung Galaxy S2, according to an announcement made by Samsung this week.
"We were working as hard as possible over the last few weeks to get Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich rolled out to all our Galaxy S2 customers," said Samsung U.K. in a statement. "We can confirm that 'XEU/sim-free' and all network upgrades are now complete except for T-Mobile and Orange which will follow as soon as possible, pending software testing and approvals."
Many consumers purchased an unbranded version of the Samsung Galaxy S2 and have not yet received the ICS update. The company finally acknowledged this and is working on getting the upgrade out for them soon.

Samsung has worked at a relatively slow pace concerning the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for the Galaxy S2.
The electronics giant recently released a schedule of countries where the update is now available. Samsung updates this list fairly often.
The upgrade still has not arrived in the U.S., but is currently available in a slew of countries overseas.
Customers can expect the new software to come pre-installed on the Galaxy S3 when it is released later on this year.
Android 4.0 seems to be popping up on plenty of new devices, including HTC's One series and Lenovo's new K800 that is rumored to be launching this week.
The system first launched on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus back in November of last year.
It employs a new graphics foundation called Roboto that makes fonts appear crystal clear.
It also adds two other interesting features with facial unlock and panorama picture taking that allows owners to unlock a device by using the front camera to scan their face and create an image by scanning a wide area.
